MY APPROACH TO BIRTH WORK
-

Gender Inclusivity
I affirm the gender identities of all individuals, including those who are non-binary, transgender, or gender non-conforming.
-

Trauma-Informed Care
I work to create a safe and validating experience for all people, especially those who have experienced past traumas.
-

Support for Your Choice
I respect every person’s autonomy by empowering them to make informed decisions about their body and birth experience.

Here are a few books I’ve read recently or that I’m reading now.
A deep exploration into the history of scientific research (or lack therof!) into female reproductive anatomy.
Ball encourages parents to be very skeptical about programs and products that claim to improve/train your baby's sleep. She also includes practical advice and a bit of baby sleep history, too.
This was recommended in the lactation course I took. It examines how women think based on interviews with over 100 women.
Why is breastfeeding such a contentious topic? Why does it feel so difficult for a parent to breastfeed if that's their choice? This book digs into all the social factors that contribute to low rates of breastfeeding in the U.S.
